Last night I was cleaning up after I got the kids in bed.
Pulled out birthday streamers again and taped them up.
Loaded the dishwasher.
Picked up in the front room and the schoolroom.
I had music playing, the tree lights on, the mantle lit with candles.
The lights were on low in the kitchen and it was peaceful.
My gal came upstairs to tell me something, and then she said, "Mom, I was lying there wondering what it will be like when I am a mother."
Without hesitating, I said,
"It's the coolest."
And then,
"It's my favorite thing in
the whole world."
Because, it really is.
Watching these babies of mine grow up has been my greatest privilege.
